Cocoa is collected fresh in rural collection points from our carefully selected farmers in Bundibugyo, Kasese, Mukono, Gulu, Lira and Western Uganda. Our Cocoa beans are fully traceable and adhere to EUDR standards regarding deforestation. Our Cocoa farmers are registered and supported with small loans, fertilisers, organic pesticides and post harvest handling materials including tarpaulins and wire meshes used in setting up drying stands. . Fermentation of the Cocoa beans takes place in a in a locally centralized facility in the Cocoa growing regions, accessible to the farmers for a period of 5-8 days . Drying is completed under a the natural sun or in solar powered units on raised mesh racks over a period of 5-8 days.

Organic Cocoa Beans from Uganda. We source our Cocoa beans fresh from farmers predominantly in Bundibugyo, Kasese and Mukono. Increasingly Cocoa is also being grown in the Central, Eastern and Northern regions of Uganda. We source our fresh organic Cocoa beans from carefully selected farmers who adhere to organic methods of growing Cocoa, who adhere to stringent post harvest handling methods of Cocoa Beans. The Cocoa beans are dried on raised stands to prevent contamination with foreign material, stones and dust. Our Cocoa beans are organic fair trade and improve the livelihoods of the rural farmers who grow the Cocoa in Uganda.
Cocoa growing in Uganda has grown in prominence recently only next to Coffee, in great part due to increased Cocoa bean prices and the efforts by the Government of Uganda and the European Union to encourage Ugandans to grow more Cocoa. The COCODEV EU-funded grant project has gone a long way in boosting Cocoa farming in Uganda. We aggregate the Cocoa beans at our warehouses in Kampala where we sort, grade and pack the Cocoa beans in gunny bags ready for export to various buyer destinations across the world.
